The "DIVA" has been awarded annually since 1991 to recognized personalities from the world of entertainment as well as for artistically and commercially successful entertainment products. Organized by Entertainment Media Verlag on behalf of the association Deutscher Entertainmentpreis e.V., the award was originally conceived as "Video winner" for successful video products. In 2005, the categories were expanded to the entertainment sectors Cinema, Music and TV-movies, video gave way to the increasingly successful medium DVD.
The prize was awarded in the categories "Audience Awards", "Jury Award" and "Hall of Fame". The Audience Award recognized large, measurable audience successes (in terms of sales figures and ratings), and the Jury Award honored film, television and music stars for their outstanding artistic achievements. The prices refer retroactively to the past year. The highest awards were given in the "DIVA - Hall of Fame" and were personalities from the entertainment sector, which have left their mark on the borders of Germany. Legends such as Lauren Bacall, Hildegard Knef, Alain Delon, Vanessa Redgrave, Maximilian Schell, Klaus Maria Brandauer, John Malkovich, Bernhard Wicki, Liv Ullmann, Charlie Chaplin, Loriot or Herbert Grönemeyer have found their place in the "Hall of Fame".
I was responsible for event management from 2009-2011 and 2003-2005.
